Day 1: ARRIVAL VENICE/CAR PICK-UP – CORTINA D’AMPEZZO (150km – 2hrs)

Upon arrival at Venice Airport, reach the car hire office to collect your car and drive to your hotel for check-in. Spend the rest of the day discovering the charm and elegance of Cortina D’Ampezzo.

Begin your adventure in the bustling Piazza Roma, the town’s vibrant heart. Stroll through the narrow, cobbled lined with traditional Tyrolean architecture, chic boutiques, and inviting cages. Visit the Basilica Minore dei Santi Filippo e Giacomo, an elegant church with stunning frescoes and baroque details. Take the Faloria cable car for a breathtaking ride up to the Faloria mountain. From here, enjoy panoramic views of Cortina and the surrounding Dolomite peaks. It’s a perfect spot for photography or anyone wanting to soak in the majestic scenery. After breakfast, we suggest visiting Lake Braies, a sparkling jewel nestled in the Dolomites. Begin your journey by arriving at Lake Braies, located in the heart of the Fanes-Sennes-Braies Nature Park. Surrounded by towering mountain peaks, this emerald-green lake is often referred to as the “Pearl of the Dolomites”. Start with a leisurely walk around the lake on the well-maintained 3.5km loop trail. The path offers stunning views from every angle, with plenty of spots to pause and take photos or simply enjoy the tranquillity of this place. The walk is suitable for all ages and fitness levels. Enhance your experience by renting a traditional wooden rowboat. Glide across the calm waters, reflecting the majestic mountains, and soak in the serene ambience. This activity is both relaxing and provides a unique perspective of the lake and its surroundings. Visit the charming Chapel of Maria, located on the lake’s southern shore. This quaint, historic chapel adds a touch of cultural and spiritual significance to the natural beauty of the area. It’s a peaceful spot for reflection and a popular place for photographs. Day 3: CORTINA D’AMBREZZO – TRE CIME DI LAVARED – CORTINA D’AMPEZZO (50km – 1.5hrs)

After breakfast at the hotel, we suggest having a walk in Tre Cime di Lavaredo. Renowned for its iconic trio of peaks, this destination offers breathtaking scenery, exhilarating hikes, and a deep connection with nature. Begin your journey by driving to Rifugio Auronzo, the starting point of the Tre Cime di Lavaredo loop trail. Situated at an altitude of 2,333 meters, this refuge provides ample parking and stunning initial views of surrounding peaks. Embark on the renowned 10km loop trail that encircles the Tre Cime di Lavaredo. This well-marked path is suitable for hikers of various skill levels and typically takes 3-4 hours to complete, depending on your pace and stops. Shortly after starting your hike, you’ll reach Rifugio Lavaredo, take a moment to enjoy the views, grab a refreshment and prepare for the ascent towards the Forcella Lavaredo, a saddle offering spectacular views of the three peaks. This vantage point is perfect for photography, capturing the dramatic silhouettes of Tre Cime against the sky. Proceed to Rifugio Locatelli, located 2,405 meters. This refuge is an ideal stop for a break, offering hearty mountain meals and stunning panoramas of the north faces of Tre Cime. After breakfast at the hotel we suggest visiting Merano and Trauttmasdorff Castle. Begin your day in Merano’s historic center, a charming area characterized by its medieval architecture atmosphere. Stroll through the quaint streets and admire the pastel-colored buildings, elegant boutiques and inviting cafes. Visit the Kurhaus, an architectural gem and iconic symbol of Merano. This stunning building, with its Art Noveau design, hosts various cultural events, concerts and exhibitions. Take a moment to appreciate its beautiful façade and ornate interiors. For a relaxing start or finish of your tour, consider visiting the Therme Merano, a modern thermal spa set in a lush park. Enjoy soothing thermal waters, and various pool and wellness treatments that make this spa a rejuvenating experience. Embark on a leisurely walk along the Tappeiner Promenade, one of the most scenic pathways in Merano. The road spans approximately 70 km and is lined with over 20 wineries. Stop at various wineries along the route to sample the region’s acclaimed wines, including Gewürztraminer, Pinot Bianco, Lagrein, and Schiava. Many wineries offer guided tasting where you can learn about the winemaking process and the unique characteristics of each varietal. Enjoy your breakfast at the hotel, check out and drive to the last destination of your trip, Treviso. A picturesque city where historic architecture, charming canals, and delectable cuisine await around every corner. Start your journey in Piazza dei Signori, the heart of the city, a square surrounded by elegant palaces and historic buildings. Admire the impressive Palazzo dei Trecento and the iconic Clock Tower. Go inside the Palazzo dei Trecento, a historical palace that once served as the seat of the city government. Today the palace hosts cultural events and exhibitions, offering insights into Treviso’s rich history and heritage. Make your way to Treviso Cathedral, dedicated to Saint Peter. Admire the cathedral's elegant façade and step inside to view its impressive collection of artwork, including paintings by Titian and Palma il Giovane. Stroll along the tranquil canals that crisscross the city, earning Treviso the nickname “Little Venice”. Day 8: TREVISO – DEPARTURE VENICE/CAR DROP-OFF (30km – 0.5hr)

Breakfast at the hotel and a day at leisure. In the afternoon drive back to Venice Airport and reach the car hire office to return your car.

Comfortable and light clothing is the most suitable for travelling in Italy. Visitors should not wear sleeveless shirts, shorts, short skirts or skimpy clothing when visiting temples, religious or official buildings. Sun protection, sunglasses, a hat, and mosquito repellent can be very useful during your stay.
